  • Oklahoma Governor activates 175 Service members from Oklahoma Army and Air National Guard

    Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt activated 175 members of the Oklahoma Army and Air National Guard this week, to help support the state response to COVID-19. The newly activated Service members will perform several missions in support of the 11 identified COVID-19 regional health administration locations in the state.

    Oklahoma Army and Air National Guard medics joined forces in COVID-19 medical response training at the Oklahoma Regional Training Institute April 10 -11. The training was aimed to prepare OKNG medical personnel for potential missions with their civilian counterparts in response to the outbreak of COVID-19 across the state.

  • 137th SOW Airman receives Oklahoma Star of Valor

    A truck engulfed in flames, driver trapped inside. As each minute passed and the chances of survival diminished, the instinct and willingness of an Airman to act meant the difference between life and death. For his heroic actions, Staff Sgt. Benjamin Anderson, an air freight journeyman assigned to the 137th Special Operations Logistics Readiness Squadron, was awarded the Oklahoma Star of Valor in a ceremony March 7, 2020, at Will Rogers Air National Guard Base, Oklahoma City.

    Master Sgt. Bryan Whittle, assigned to the 205th Engineering and Installation Squadron (205th EIS), was awarded the Airman’s Medal – the Air Force’s highest noncombat award – in a ceremony December 8, 2019, at Will Rogers Air National Guard Base in Oklahoma City.

  • 205th EIS perform final radio installation for AFFSA replacement program

    The 205th Engineering and Installation Squadron (205th EIS) from Will Rogers Air National Guard Base (WRANGB), Oklahoma City, was tasked in 2016 with installing radio systems for the Air Force Flight Standards Agency (AFFSA), an agency whose mission encompasses the design and writing of basic flight regulations and flight rules, air traffic control and landing systems, and airfield management for the entire U.S. Air Force.
  • 32-year enlisted aircrew member adds 'command chief' to the list

    From a jet engine mechanic and KC-130 flight engineer as a Marine to a C-130H flight engineer, KC-135 boom operator, and a MC-12W tactical systems operator as an Oklahoma Air Guardsman, Chief Master Sergeant Brian Brindle adds another position to the list – 137th Special Operations Wing Command Chief Master Sergeant.
