Colonel SHELBY L. DREYER

Col. Shelby Dreyer serves as Commander of the 137th Special Operations Wing, Will Rogers Air National Guard Base, Oklahoma City, Okla. The 137th SOW is a U.S. Air Force flying wing aligned under the Air National Guard with an enduring deployment/operational reserve construct. The wing provides manned Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance support for Air Force Special Operations Command and provides Agile Combat Support in Acquisition, Engineering, Communications, Security, Cyberspace, Logistics, and Manpower. The 137th SOW is comprised of three groups, including 14 squadrons and flights and 10 staff offices with more than 1,200 personnel.


Col. Dreyer directs, trains, equips and maintains a diverse military force capable of short notice, world-wide deployments in response to Department of Defense approved war plans and contingencies and disaster relief as a multi-mission air wing.


Col. Shelby Dreyer joined the Air National Guard and commissioned in 2001 at the Academy of Military Science, Knoxville, TN. Her career includes over 19 years in the Intelligence Community, both within the Air National Guard and Army National Guard. Col Dreyer started her military career as an Intelligence Officer at the 138th Fighter Wing, Tulsa, OK, supporting F-16 flying missions. She then transferred to the 114th Fighter Wing, Sioux Falls, SD, as an Intelligence Officer, Deputy A2, and then transitioned to the South Dakota Army National Guard as the Deputy J2 for the South Dakota Joint Force Headquarters, Camp Rapid, Rapid City, SD. Col Dreyer later moved with her family back to Oklahoma and transferred to the 137th Air Refueling Wing, as an Intelligence Officer supporting KC-135 missions. Within the 137th Special Operations Wing, Col. Dreyer has performed in leadership positions to include Senior Intelligence Officer, Commander of the 285th Special Operations Intelligence Squadron, 137 SOW Chief of Staff, 137 Mission Support Group Commander and 137 SOW Deputy Commander.
